Edge made his presence felt in a major way as Roman Reigns retained the Universal Title in a wild melee against Daniel Bryan. Elsewhere, an even more ghastly version of The Fiend reemerged to haunt Randy Orton, Drew McIntyre toppled Sheamus in a barbaric brawl, Sasha Banks and Bianca Belair imploded in a failed bid to become WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions and more.
United States Championship: UNITED STATES CHAMPION, Riddle defeated Mustafa Ali (with Retribution). (Kickoff Match)
Riddle left WWE Fastlane still the United States Champion, while Mustafa Ali and RETRIBUTION left in pieces.
After clashing in recent weeks, Riddle and Ali were acutely familiar with each other, and it showed in an evenly contested bout. Ali took control after brutally spinning Riddle into the ringside post, but he occasionally seemed more focused on proving a point to his RETRIBUTION allies at ringside than actually defeating Riddle.
That proved costly, as The Original Bro unleashed a massive Bro Derek from the second rope for the win.
Ali berated the rest of RETRIBUTION in the ring afterward, again blaming them for his failure. RECKONING and SLAPJACK defiantly walked out despite Ali’s protests, and T-BAR and MACE demonstrated their mutiny in a different way, dropping him with a massive double chokeslam and raising plenty of questions about a potential fracture in RETRIBUTION. WWE Women's Tag Team Championship: WWE WOMEN'S TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS, Nia Jax & Shayna Baszler defeated SmackDown Women's Champion, Sasha Banks & 2021 Royal Rumble Winner, Bianca Belair.
Sasha Banks and Bianca Belair won’t be taking the WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles on their way to WrestleMania. Instead, their collision course is fully in effect after their union imploded in a loss to Nia Jax & Shayna Baszler.
Despite being set to battle for Banks’ SmackDown Women’s Title in only three weeks, Banks and Belair surprisingly functioned as the more cohesive unit early with frequent tags, dominating much of the action.
But The Queen of Spades and The Irresistible Force began to enforce their will against Belair until The EST was eventually able to make a tag to Banks, who lit up both Jax & Baszler, setting Belair to come back in and hit a spectacular 450 splash. Reginald, who accompanied Jax & Baszler at ringside, distracted from the ensuing pin attempt, however.
Banks locked Baszler in the Bank Statement, and while Belair tried to block Jax from breaking it up, The EST was shoved back on top of Banks, breaking the hold.
That was all it took to set off Banks and Belair, and Baszler took advantage with a roll-up on Banks for the win.
The tension between Banks and Belair only escalated from there. The Boss landed the first blow prior to next month’s showdown, blasting Belair with a brutal slap across the face. (Via WWE.com)

Braun Strowman defeated Elias (with Jaxson Ryker).
Somehow, Shane McMahon might have made Braun Strowman even angrier at WWE Fastlane.
The Monster Among Men came out victorious against Elias, who replaced McMahon.
McMahon suffered an apparent knee injury while warming up earlier in the day, and with Elias later approaching him and advocating for a spot at WrestleMania, Shane hatched an escape plan.
Elias unwittingly became Strowman’s opponent in place of McMahon and paid a dear price for it. While Jaxson Ryker tried to occupy Strowman’s attention at several junctures, it did little to slow down The Monster Among Men, who completely dominated Elias and pinned him following a massive Running Powerslam. iNTERCONTINENTAL chAMPIONSHIP: INTERCONTINENTAL CHAMPION, bIG E defeated Apollo Crews.
Big E took care of business against Apollo Crews at WWE Fastlane, but his issues with Apollo Crews appear to be anything but over.
The champion came out of the gates hot, dominating Crews and clearly fed up with his opponent’s vicious attacks in recent weeks. Big E crushed Crews with repeated splashes on the apron, with the challenger finally created an opening with a low dropkick.
But Big E outmaneuvered Crews, catching him off-guard with a roll-up for a win out of nowhere.
Crews lividly attacked Big E after the bell, battering him with repeated smacks and slams before standing with his boot defiantly pressed to the champion’s face. (Via WWE.com)

Seth Rollins defeated Shinsuke Nakamura.
Seth Rollins was on a mission to accomplish one thing at WWE Fastlane: teach Shinsuke Nakamura to respect him.
The SmackDown Savior seemed to accomplish his goal with a victory, though it wasn’t without hard-fought resistance by The Artist.
Rollins deployed a vicious approach right off the bat, clearly motivated to prove his superiority on the blue brand as he smashed Nakamura into the announce table to set the tone.
Repeatedly crowing about his strength in comparison to Cesaro, Rollins got carried away by going for a Swing a la The Swiss Superman, as Nakamura locked on an armbar to do significant damage before Rollins could force a rope break.
From there, two of the WWE’s most talented Superstars waged a back-and-forth battle, though Rollins reigned supreme with a pin following a Stomp, sending an emphatic message to the entire roster and Cesaro in particular. (Via WWE.com)

Drew McIntyre defeated Sheamus. (No Holds Barred Match)
Drew McIntyre has erased any doubt that he’s ready for WrestleMania, prevailing in a grueling No Holds Barred Match over former friend Sheamus at WWE Fastlane.
Appropriately clad with Scottish warpaint across his face, McIntyre was prepared for the epic clash that ensued, fueled by the emotions of a former 20-year friendship.
The two warriors dismantled the ringside area almost immediately as the ring was unable to contain their conflict. McIntyre sought to use a Kendo stick, only to eat it courtesy of Sheamus Brogue Kicking it straight into his face.
The brawl spilled throughout the WWE ThunderDome, with McIntyre sending The Celtic Warrior through a set of LED screens, causing sparks to fly. Sheamus fought back though, screaming that McIntyre stole his WrestleMania opportunity before planting him through the announce table with White Noise.
The No. 1 Contender to the WWE Championship defiantly fought back as the action returned to the ring, spiking Sheamus with the Future Shock DDT into rubble from the announce table. Following immediately after with the Claymore, McIntyre finally put Sheamus away and cleared the path for his WWE Title Match against Bobby Lashley at WrestleMania. (Via WWE.com)

Alexa Bliss defeated Randy Orton. (Inter-gender Match)
Randy Orton’s sinister past with The Fiend has haunted him for weeks, and it finally reached a crescendo at WWE Fastlane.
The Fiend reemerged in ghastly fashion, helping Alexa Bliss pin The Viper after a stunning series of events.
Orton was snakebit before the bout even began, as the mysterious greenish-black liquid we’ve seen previously spilled from his mouth, sending Orton into a fit.
A ghostly-looking Alexa Bliss entered the WWE ThunderDome and set the tone for a supernatural-laden showdown, as she appeared to set off flames right in front of Orton immediately after the opening bell.
Enraged, Orton charged Bliss looking for a tackle but instead collided with the ring post shoulder-first. Orton continued to pursue her after recovering, only to be narrowly missed by a lighting rig Bliss seemed to cause to fall from the WWE ThunderDome.
Bliss lured a now-cautious Orton back inside the ring before blowing a fireball at The Apex Predator. And just when she appeared to be out of tricks, a hand came through the mat, grabbing Orton.
The Viper could only watch in sheer disbelief as The Fiend emerged from underneath the ring, heavily burned thanks to Orton’s dastardly deeds a few months ago. With Orton shellshocked, The Fiend dropped him with Sister Abigail, clearing the way for Bliss to pin him. (Via WWE.com)

WWE Universal Championship: WWE Universal Champion, Roman Reigns defeated Daniel Bryan. (Edge was outside Special Enforcer)
Roman Reigns is still the Universal Champion, but it’s clear his challenger in three weeks at WrestleMania will stop at nothing to dethrone him.
Reigns retained the title against Daniel Bryan in a chaotic melee that saw Edge, the Special Outside Enforcer, make his presence felt in a major way.
Bryan deployed mental warfare from the outside, repeatedly connecting with quick strikes that were almost more annoying to Reigns than they were damaging. But Reigns eventually turned the battle into a slugfest, fed up with The “Yes!” Man provoking him, and the matchup turned nasty in a hurry as Reigns controlled the pace.
With the action moving outside the ring, Bryan fought back by sending Reigns face-first into the post. Bryan’s surge seemed to only anger the champion, but Bryan kept bringing the fight, eventually applying the “Yes!” Lock. Reigns was reeling with nowhere to go until eventually powering out and slamming Bryan with a huge powerbomb.
All hell broke loose moments later as Bryan’s Running Knee inadvertently took out the official instead of The Head of the Table.
Reigns answered with a huge Spear, and with the referee incapacitated, Edge put his authority to use, counting a near-fall. Reigns seemed to question The Rated-R Superstar’s cadence, and Bryan took advantage of Reigns’ lack of focus to lock on a Triangle hold.
But out of nowhere, Jey Uso emerged to blast Edge with a superkick before hitting Bryan with one as well, bailing out Reigns. Bryan neutralized Uso with a knee when Uso attempted to use a chair. The “Yes!” Man then errantly struck Edge with a chair strike meant for Reigns.
The challenger recovered to apply the “Yes!” Lock yet again, only for Edge to bash him with the chair just as a barely conscious Reigns appeared to be tapping out.
Incensed, The Rated-R Superstar beat both before exiting, and Reigns had just enough energy to slide over Bryan for a hellacious win. (Via WWE.com)
